The Tudors - Season 4

Hello, everyone! I have not abandoned the site; Tamzin news has just been quiet. For those who were wondering or did not catch The Tudors finale, I was hoping Tamzin would appear in the much-anticipated dream sequence with Henry VIII’s previous wives. Unfortunately, the sequence only included Maria Doyle Kennedy, Natalie Dormer, and Annabelle Wallis. Catherine Howard was mentioned, however, and her dancing was featured in a flashback sequence at the end. Although the series is over, we still have the DVD release and special features to look forward to!
Jane Eyre Release Date

According to this website, Jane Eyre will be released March 11, 2011. That is still too far away for me! The movie sounds like the perfect adaptation of the novel and I am looking forward to seeing it. With Jane Eyre done, I wonder what Tamzin will be up to next?
Focus will begin a platform release of the Cary Fukunaga-directed Jane Eyre on March 11, 2011. The film stars Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell and Judi Dench in an adaptation of the Charlotte Bronte novel. The film just wrapped.
George R. R. Martin on Catherine’s Exit

Hello, Tamzin fans. I missed this post on George R. R. Martin’s blog about the finale of The Tudors. He writes very sweet things about Tamzin and her performance and appears very disappointed by her not being in Game of Thrones. He also shares my opinion exactly about the series! Here are some excerpts:
And in this evening’s epiosde, the beautiful and talented Tamzin Merchant’s wonderful portrayal as the doomed teenage queen Katheryn Howard came to its bloody conclusion on the headsman’s block, in a scene as gut-wrenching and heart-breaking as Anne Boleyn’s execution a couple of seasons back. Tamzin took on a daunting task with this role. Katheryn was the youngest of Henry’s queens, only fifteen by some accounts (others say slightly older), and while far from innocent, she was naive, unsophisticated, frivilous, giggly.. a kitten frolicking in a tiger cage, oblivious to the claws around her. Tamzin caught all that wonderfully, I thought… both in the character’s introduction last season, and in the first few episodes of this seasons… sexy as hell in the bedroom scenes, a playful child with her friends and ladies, awkward and ill at ease at court.
Tamzin did all that beautifully as well, showing us Kathryn’s fear and desperation, and, finally, her courage as she faced the axe. My favorite scene, though, was a completely silent one, where Tamzin dances alone in a darkened abbey while her friends and lovers are being tortured and beheaded elsewhere, and we intercut between the two. Exquisite.

I finally added screen captures from 4.5 of The Tudors. Tamazin was great in this episode. I can’t wait to see her in her next role.

Hello, everyone! How amazing was the the last episode of The Tudors? It was very sad (I am still recovering from it) and Tamzin’s performance was very good. We got to see Catherine’s serious side more (and Tamzin is an amazing dancer). The last scenes of the episode were so well done. I will finally be home tonight and will cap 4.5 tomorrow. I hope you all enjoyed 4.5 as much as I did. I made a brief update to the gallery with a few old and new episode stills.

Unfortunately, I am leaving the day the movie opens (May 14). It would have been awesome to watch it here! You can view more stills from the movie here. Sorry for the wait! Screen captures of Tamzin as Catherine Howard have finally been added to the gallery. I felt so bad for Catherine in this episode. Tamzin does such an amazing job making Catherine look so silly without us hating her.
